The illusion of „objective data“

One misunderstanding we often see in businesses, and sometimes also in engineering teams, is the belief that the only „valid“ research is the type of research that gives us (supposedly) „objective“ results – namely quantitative data …because numbers represent the „truth.“
What is often forgotten here is that statistics are also subject to interpretation – a fact often neglected when arguing using quantitative data as the single source of information.
